Pakistan: 9 BLA Terrorists Killed in Security Operations in Balochistan

QUETTA (Terror Monitor) — Nine terrorists affiliated with the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), including a commander, were killed in separate security operations in Pakistan’s restive Balochistan province, according to security officials and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).

Security sources said three terrorists affiliated with the BLA were killed during an operation in Mastung district. The sources identified one of those killed as Commander Naqeeb.

According to the sources, the BLA terrorists’ vehicle was targeted by a quadcopter during the operation, killing three terrorists and completely destroying the vehicle.

Security officials said operations would continue until the remaining terrorists were eliminated.

Pakistan uses the term Fitna al-Hindustan for terrorists affiliated with the banned BLA.

Separately, CTD officials said six suspected BLA terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Saranan area of Pishin district.

According to a CTD spokesperson, an exchange of fire took place during the operation, in which four security personnel were also wounded. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the site, the spokesperson said.

The CTD spokesperson said the terrorists killed in the operation were involved in attacks targeting security forces and civilians.

The reported operations come amid continued security operations against BLA militants in Balochistan, where armed violence has increased in recent months.
