Two Missiles Reportedly Strike Iran’s Qeshm Island as Trump Hints at U.S. Military Strikes

Washington, D۔C./Tehran (Terror Monitor) — Two missiles reportedly struck Iran’s strategically important Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz, while U.S. President Donald Trump appeared to acknowledge American military strikes in the area, including an attack on an air defense system. Meanwhile, the United States has issued a security alert advising its citizens across the Middle East to exercise increased caution amid growing regional tensions.

Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported that two missiles struck Qeshm Island in southern Iran. However, no official information has so far been released regarding possible casualties or material damage resulting from the reported attack.

Tasnim said further details would be published after the relevant authorities confirm the incident.

Earlier, Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency reported, citing local eyewitnesses, that two projectiles had fallen on Qeshm Island. Witnesses also reported hearing the sound of an aircraft flying over the island around the same time.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump was asked Thursday night about reports of American strikes on Qeshm Island earlier in the day.

Trump declined to discuss the reports, telling reporters, “I don’t wanna talk about it.”

However, he subsequently acknowledged that the United States had carried out what he described as “minor strikes,” including an attack on an “anti-aircraft device.” His remarks appeared to confirm U.S. military action on Qeshm Island, although he did not explicitly identify the location of the strike.

Qeshm is the largest island in the Persian Gulf and is strategically located in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most important maritime routes for global energy shipments. The island is also rich in natural resources, including salt, oil and natural gas.

Separately, the United States has issued a security alert for American citizens across the Middle East, urging them to exercise heightened caution because of the deteriorating regional security situation.

According to the alert issued by U.S. authorities, concerns have increased over potential armed attacks by Yemen's Houthi group and alleged attempts to target American officials in the region.

The warning also cautioned that regional tensions could lead to flight cancellations, airspace closures and disruptions to travel.

U.S. authorities advised American citizens to closely monitor the latest travel advisories and security guidance issued for their respective host countries and to remain alert to potential security threats.

The developments come amid growing concerns over escalating tensions around the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf, with reports of attacks in southern Iran raising further questions about the possibility of a wider regional confrontation.

Turkish Parliament Ratifies Mecca Defence Pact with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia

Türkiye’s parliament has ratified the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia by 279 votes to 119, formalising a trilateral pact under which an armed attack against one member would be treated as an attack against all three. The agreement provides for military coordination, intelligence sharing and mutual defence assistance, while any deployment of Turkish troops to Saudi Arabia would require separate parliamentary approval.
