Sanna (Terror Monitor) — Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen claimed on Saturday that they had carried out attacks on Saudi Aramco oil facilities in the Saudi cities of Jizan and Yanbu.
Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said in a statement that the group had "successfully conducted operations targeting Saudi Aramco facilities in Jizan and Yanbu."
Saudi authorities have not yet issued an official response to the Houthi claims.
The announcement comes days after the Houthis declared a maritime commercial blockade against Saudi Arabia and claimed responsibility for multiple attacks on shipping in the Red Sea.
In response to the maritime blockade, Saudi Arabia reportedly launched strikes on Houthi positions in the Yemeni port city of Al Hudaydah and on a nearby island.
Earlier on Saturday, Greek security sources told Reuters that a Greek-operated air defense system deployed in Saudi Arabia intercepted two ballistic missiles launched from Yemen before they could reach oil refineries in Yanbu.
