Iran Executes Man Accused of Spying for Israel

Tehran (Terror Monitor) — Iran has executed a man sentenced to death after being convicted of spying for Israel.
According to Iran’s judiciary-affiliated Mizan News Agency, the man was identified as Hossein Pedran. He was accused of providing Israel’s Mossad with information about sensitive military sites in Iran’s Isfahan province.
BBC Persian, citing Mizan News, reported that the charges were based on equipment allegedly found in Pedran’s possession and confessions attributed to him. Iranian authorities accused him of espionage on behalf of Israel and intelligence cooperation with foreign powers.
Mizan News reported that Pedran’s death sentence was carried out after being upheld by Iran’s Supreme Court.
The judiciary did not disclose when Pedran was arrested, where his trial was held, or what specific evidence and defense arguments were presented in court.
Human rights organizations have repeatedly raised concerns about the transparency of espionage trials in Iran, including cases involving allegations of forced or disputed confessions. However, such concerns should be distinguished from the specific allegations made by Iranian authorities in this case.
