TEHRAN (Terror Monitor) — Two members of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were killed and two others seriously wounded in a shooting attack in Kermanshah Province, western Iran.
According to Iranian authorities, the attack took place in the city of Paveh. The IRGC's Public Relations Office described the incident as a terrorist attack and said the relevant authorities have launched an investigation.
The two slain personnel were identified as Khaled Khaledinia and Borhan Karsani.
Meanwhile, Kurdish rights group Hengaw reported that a Kurdish insurgent group calling itself "Xorî Hîwa" ("Sun of Hope") has claimed responsibility for the attack.
According to opposition sources, the group said it targeted local figures allegedly linked to the Iranian government, accusing them of acting as collaborators and informants. It also alleged that Khaled Khaledinia participated in the crackdown on the 2022–2023 "Woman, Life, Freedom" protests in Javanrud.
Iranian authorities have not confirmed the group's claim of responsibility or the allegations made against the deceased IRGC member.
