Iraq Arrests 3 ISIS Militants in Diyala and Anbar Operations

Baghdad (Terror Monitor) — Iraqi security forces have arrested three ISIS militants in separate intelligence-based operations in Diyala and Anbar provinces, while also recovering a cache of weapons and ammunition used by the group.

According to Iraq’s Military Intelligence Directorate, security forces arrested two ISIS-linked militants in Diyala following intelligence gathering and prolonged surveillance. Both suspects were already wanted under anti-terrorism laws.

The authorities said the two suspects were handed over to the relevant agencies for further legal proceedings.

Meanwhile, Iraq’s Counter-Terrorism Service arrested another ISIS militant during an intelligence-based operation in Anbar province.

In a separate search operation in Anbar, security forces also recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition abandoned by ISIS. The seized material was taken into custody and safely disposed of by security personnel.
