Pakistan: Five Punjab Workers Killed in Terrorist Attack in Balochistan’s Washuk

Quetta (Terror Monitor) — Five workers from Pakistan’s Punjab province were killed in a terrorist attack in Washuk district of the restive Balochistan province. Following the incident, security forces launched efforts to trace the attackers.

According to Washuk Deputy Commissioner Abdul Majeed Sarparah, the incident took place in Mashkel tehsil of Washuk district, where unidentified armed terrorists opened indiscriminate fire at a shop, killing five workers from Punjab.

Local administration officials said the victims belonged to different districts of Punjab. Further details regarding their identities and the motive behind the attack have not yet been released.

Following the attack, police and other law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area, collected evidence from the scene, and launched a search operation to arrest the perpetrators.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti strongly condemned the attack, calling the killing of innocent workers a heinous crime. He said all those involved in terrorism would be brought to justice and that action against elements challenging the state’s authority would be intensified.

Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind said the chief minister had taken immediate notice of the incident and ordered a transparent and impartial investigation. He added that those responsible would be brought to justice.

The banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the attack, while investigations into the incident are ongoing.
