Pakistan: Seven Terrorists Killed in Hangu Operation, Army Captain Also Killed

Peshawar (Terror Monitor) — Seven terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation conducted by Pakistan’s security forces in Hangu district, while a 27-year-old army captain, Hamza Akram, was also killed during the operation, the military said.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces launched the operation in Hangu on August 7, 2026, following intelligence reports about the presence of terrorists in the area.

The military said security forces targeted a terrorist hideout during the operation. According to the statement, the terrorists subsequently moved into a mosque, where an exchange of fire took place.

“Seven terrorists were killed” during the subsequent exchange of fire, the ISPR said.

The military added that Captain Hamza Akram, 27, was also killed during the operation.

According to the ISPR, Captain Hamza Akram was a resident of Narowal district and was leading his troops during the operation.

The military said weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the dead terrorists. According to the ISPR, the terrorists were involved in various attacks against security forces, law enforcement agencies and civilians.

A clearance operation is continuing in the area to locate and eliminate any remaining terrorists, the military said.

Terror Monitor First Reported Hangu Attack

It is worth noting that Terror Monitor was the first to report the Hangu attack a day earlier, when initial information emerged about an operation and clashes between security forces and terrorists in the area.

The Pakistan Army has now officially confirmed the operation, the deaths of seven terrorists and the killing of Captain Hamza Akram.
