QUETTA (Terror Monitor) — The tortured body of Airport Security Force (ASF) Deputy Director Muhammad Waseem, who was kidnapped in Balochistan's Kalat district in May, has been recovered, police confirmed.
Kalat District Police Officer (DPO) Zahid Shah said the body was found in a deserted area near the Quetta-Karachi Highway. After a post-mortem examination and completion of legal formalities, the body was sent to Karachi for burial.
Muhammad Waseem was abducted on May 20 from the Muhammad Tawa area of Kalat while traveling in a private vehicle from Quetta to Karachi. At the time of his abduction, he was serving as Deputy Director of the Airport Security Force at Zhob Airport in northern Balochistan.
Following the kidnapping, the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the abduction.
Police said the body bore visible signs of torture. Authorities have launched an investigation into the killing.
Kalat, located about 150 kilometers southwest of Quetta, is among Balochistan's insurgency-affected districts, where security personnel, government officials, and civilians have repeatedly been targeted in militant attacks.
