Iran’s IRGC Claims Attacks on U.S. Military Bases in Bahrain and Kuwait

Tehran / Washington (Terror Monitor) — Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that it carried out missile and drone attacks targeting U.S. military facilities in Bahrain and Kuwait, shortly after the United States announced a new wave of strikes against southern Iran.

According to Iranian media, the IRGC said in a statement issued Tuesday night that simultaneous missile and drone operations targeted Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain, destroying several storage facilities allegedly used for weapons and spare parts for U.S. aircraft and naval assets.

The statement further claimed that Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait was also targeted, where the IRGC alleged that U.S. MQ-9 drones were stationed. It claimed that several drones were destroyed or damaged in the attack.

The claims have not been independently verified, and U.S. and Bahraini authorities have not immediately confirmed any damage.

Earlier, the U.S. military announced that it had launched a new phase of strikes against Iran. The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said the operations were aimed at further degrading Iran’s military capabilities used to target commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

CENTCOM said U.S. forces had also resumed preparations to enforce a naval blockade against vessels traveling to and from Iranian ports and coastal areas.

The U.S. military said more than 20 fighter aircraft and hundreds of aircraft were operating across the Middle East as part of the ongoing operations.

Meanwhile, Iranian media reported explosions in the southern Iranian cities of Bandar Abbas, Kish Island, and Qeshm Island, as well as in parts of Khuzestan province.

In a statement posted on social media platform X, CENTCOM said the latest strikes represented an additional phase of U.S. operations against Iran.

The command said the strikes were conducted as Iran’s military blockade enforcement measures were being prepared, adding that the naval restrictions were scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time.

Iran Warns U.S.: ‘We Will Not Allow Control of Strait of Hormuz’

Iran has rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s claim that Washington is taking control of the Strait of Hormuz, warning that Tehran will not allow foreign intervention in the strategic waterway. Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya military headquarters and IRGC officials said any attempt to control the strait would threaten regional security and vowed to respond to what they described as U.S. aggression.
