JERUSALEM (Terror Monitor) — Israeli Energy and Infrastructure Minister Eli Cohen has said that Israel’s control over the Gaza Strip will continue to expand until it reaches full control of the territory.
Speaking to Israeli Radio, Cohen said Israel “cannot allow Hamas to raise its head even by a millimeter,” adding that military operations and ground control are being steadily expanded for this purpose.
He claimed that Israel’s control over Gaza stood at around 53% two months ago, increased to 60% a month later, and has now reached approximately 70%.
According to Cohen, Israeli policy will continue to expand this control until the entire Gaza Strip comes under Israeli control.
Israeli military operations in Gaza remain ongoing, while international concern continues to grow over the humanitarian crisis and civilian casualties. Hamas and other Palestinian factions have also continued to announce operations against Israeli forces in various areas.
