Ukraine: Russia Launches Fresh Missile Barrage on Kyiv

Kyiv (Terror Monitor) — Russia launched a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, early Tuesday, firing ballistic missiles and drones in what Ukrainian officials described as the fifth major missile attack on the city this month.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the strikes damaged 16 locations across the capital, including a school and a business center. City authorities also reported multiple fires in several districts.

Zelenskyy said Russia also targeted critical infrastructure in southern Ukraine. Seven people were reported injured in the eastern Kharkiv region, while three others were wounded in the northern Chernihiv region.

According to the Ukrainian president, Russia launched 135 drones and 10 missiles overnight against cities and towns across Ukraine, with most of the missiles identified as ballistic.

Zelenskyy renewed calls for increased international pressure on Moscow, urging European allies to swiftly approve a new package of sanctions against Russia.

Meanwhile, Ukraine has intensified its own drone campaign inside Russia, targeting weapons production facilities and oil infrastructure. Kyiv says the strikes are aimed at weakening Russia's ability to finance and sustain the war.

Russian authorities reported a fire at the Afipsky oil refinery in the southern Krasnodar region, while drone debris reportedly fell in an industrial zone in Salavat, Bashkortostan.

Russian President Vladimir Putin warned earlier this week that attacks on Russian territory by Ukraine would be met with a much stronger response, saying Russia's retaliatory strikes would be "many times more powerful" and broader in scope.
