Kryvyi (Terror Monitor) — Rescue workers searched through the rubble of a shopping center in the Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih overnight following a Russian drone strike that killed 20 people and injured 130 others, according to local authorities. Nine people remain missing.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack as “brutal and reprehensible,” saying it was carried out in two stages, with the second strike targeting rescue workers at the scene.
Local officials said 23 children were among the injured, while 29 wounded people were in critical condition. The death toll rose to 16 after another body was recovered from the rubble.
Video footage showed a second drone striking the shopping center after the building had already caught fire.
The Russian military has not commented on the reported attack. Russia’s Defense Ministry said its strikes had targeted transport infrastructure and warehouses.
Meanwhile, additional casualties were reported in other parts of Ukraine. In Kyiv, one person was killed after a warehouse caught fire, while a Russian drone strike in Zaporizhzhia killed at least one person and injured four others.
